A poodle, stork, gorilla, and cats are just some of the artists rendering of animals featured in The Faces in The Wild Online Sixth Annual Art Auction benefiting the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) which will end its bidding Sept. 29th.

The event, which goes until 3 p.m. on that date, pits artist against artist with a portion of proceeds from the winner to go towards the organization. All auction proceeds will be matched by Humanscale and donated to WWF according to the event website, humanscale.com

You can bid online at the site by clicking on your favorite image.

Other features submitted include seahorses and elephants among other creature paintings.

IBM, Johnson & Johnson, and Nike have joined WWF to fight global warming in fundraising efforts.

WWFUS began in 1961 and ever since has led projects to protect mammals such as the panda, tiger, sea turtle, whale, and hippo among other wild animals.

The panda is known for its lovable charms and friendly ways and in all the animal kingdom, its personality is one that stands out. For two decades WWF has lobbied to keep the creature in existence.

In the tiger category, India has the highest number of those wild animals in their kingdom. WWF and its partners are working to keep the tiger around.

Known as the biggest of the great apes, gorillas have been at the forefront of conservation efforts for a long time. The animal is one of top priorities for WWF and you can adopt one of them online just as you can the other featured creatures on the website's page. The WWF also has an Orangutan Rescue project within their conservation program for the gorilla. Considered to be amazing, the gorilla has been featured in such famous films as "Gorillas In The Mist" and Coco, a popular gorilla not associated with the WWF, even has her own website.

The Atlantic salmon has a rich history and is sleek in its appearance, being a favorite of fishermen. Although they are born in freshwater they live most of their life in the sea. They are seen from Portugal to Russia and can be found in the U.S. and some other countries as well.

Beautiful coral reefs found on the ocean floor are considered to be as breathtaking as the well known rainforest with its vibrant colors and glorious rainbow of palettes.

Great Apes, popular at zoos, are considered to be among the wondrous creatures within the WWF featured on their site. Highly intelligent, intuitive, and gregarious, the animals have been showcased in many conservation efforts.

Money To The Wind

By Terri Rimmer Ronnie used to pay for everything with plastic, get a high off of his weekends in Shreveport, and stroll through life without a care in the world – or so it seemed. Today he has been unemployed for months, is trying to get on disability, and has to sell junk he finds just to put gas in his car. “Most of my money I lost gambling,” he told his friend Elaine recently to which she gasped. Not most of his money – all of it. When one woman dated him briefly she thought he was rich the way he flashed his credit cards around all the time, paying for everything at expensive restaurants, movies; etc. Until she saw his house and how it was falling apart at the seams. “I should be ashamed of myself living like this,” he said and she silently agreed though she knew he was in the throes of a gambling addiction that he was in denial about. Gone are the days when Ronnie would travel to the casinos out of town to gamble and come back a lot of times with a lot of money, excited to the co
